Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Authors shall refer to at least two (2) references Erevna Journal of Linguistics and Literature

Review Process

 

Peer Review:

The Erevna Journal of Linguistics and Literature is committed to publish high quality works with significant policy implications and contribution to the literature. The decision about each manuscript is taken following a rigorous process:

 

The peer-review process:

 

  1. A respected editorial board member will make an initial assessment about the quality and uniqueness of a paper in terms of scope, originality, and contribution to the existing body of knowledge. Moreover, papers written within the guidelines regarding the structure of the paper is also given consideration in the initial assessment.
  2. Once the designated internal editorial board member is satisfied with the suitability of a submission, it is sent to two anonymous peer reviewers for their comment.    
  3. The reviewer will assign marks and make comment about the following six categories:

ü  Originality of the paper

ü  The value of the research question and research gap.

ü  The soundness of the conceptual and technical or methodological framework.

ü  Insightful discussion in the result and discussion section

ü  The contribution of the paper

ü  Academic writing quality.

    4. Once the final comment of the reviewers is received, a decision is made about submission within 2 or 3 weeks of submission.

Every researcher & scholar should keep in mind the following aspects while sending the papers:

ü  the topic, title, and focus of the Research Paper;

ü  the names of all researchers contributing (maximum 5);

ü  the name of the coordinator (corresponding researcher);

ü  an outline of the theoretical background of the research topic;

ü  prior reading suggestions for attendants and details on accessibility (if needed)

Guidelines for Manuscript 

Instruction for Authors

Manuscript of 5000 to 6000 words should be double-spaced typewritten printed on 8.5 x 11 inches’ page. It should be composed according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) (6th ed.).

The manuscript must include an abstract of approximately 120- 250 words.

The authors must provide the preferred minimum of five keywords for the study.

The title should be brief, not more than fourteen words it should be written in Times New Roman Font Size 12 Bold and centered.

All papers are to be submitted as a single MS WORD file, formatted for 8.5" x 11" paper.

EJLL accepts manuscripts via e-mail. The manuscript should be prepared using a recent version of Microsoft Word and should utilize standard fonts and symbols.

Use headings carefully and logically. Do not use more than three levels of headings.

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following style rules (deviations from these rules can cause publication delays).

Content, Length, and Formatting

It is the author's responsibility to make the submitted paper clear, related, and thought-provoking, before submission and consideration by referees. This requires:

Abstract

An abstract must not exceed 250 words comprising the following format:

Author’s name (s) and affiliation

Email address

Title and abstract content

The abstract should be written clearly and readily comprehensible. It should include research problems, research purpose, methodological approach, key findings, and implications.

Introduction

The Introduction should provide a clear statement of the problem, and relevant literature on the subject should be cited. Methods and procedures used in the research should be described in detail. Results should be clearly described and should provide a comprehensive picture of the results. Previously published findings should be written in the present tense. Detailed interpretation of data should not be included. In the discussion section findings should be interpreted in line with the present study results and results of past research in that area. Conclusions should be given at the end of the article. The discussion section should describe briefly the major findings. It should describe the validity of observation and other published work dealing with the same type of findings.

  • The body of the paper should include the following headings in the same order.
  • Introduction
  • Review of the literature
  • Research Methodology
  • Data Analysis
  • Results & Discussions
  • Conclusion
  • References

A4 size paper

Margins must be 1.5 inches on top and bottom, 1.7 inches on left and right.

Font size 10 Times New Roman (body text)

Title, subtitles, abstract, and references single-spaced; body text 1.0 - line spaced

Referencing & tables will be considered in the total page count.

Tables and Figures

Tables must be submitted in Microsoft Word format and should be created using Times New Roman text, 10 font size. APA-style must be followed.

Each table and figure should fit on a single page.  Tables and figures may be oriented horizontally (landscape) or vertically (portrait) within the allotted space.

Each table and figure should be identified with a table or figure number and a descriptive title.

References

References should be (a) integrated into the text in short form and (b) collected together at the end of the article. APA format must be followed.

The author(s) should make sure that there is a strict one-to-one correspondence between the in-text citations (including citations, tables, and figures) and the list of end References.

Copyright Transfer

Submission of a paper will be held to imply that it contains original unpublished work and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere.

Submission of a paper also implies that upon acceptance of an article by the journal, the author(s) will transfer the copyright of the article to the publisher. The transfer will ensure the widest possible distribution of material.

The editor reserves the right to amend, abridge, or otherwise alter the contents of the paper to make it suitable for publication. However, every endeavor will be made not to affect the spirit or effectiveness of the paper.
