Abstract

Synthesis of Co(1-x)ZnxFe2O4 with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6 by the co-precipitation method is reported along with the structural properties observed by the X-ray diffraction.
The variation in the lattice constant, volume of the cell, x-ray density, average crystallite size and the specific surface area were obtained as a function of x. The values of cation distribution in tetrahedral and octahedral bond length dAx and dBx, tetrahedral edge, shared and unshared octahedral edges dAXE , dBXE, and dBXEU have been estimated, using the observed values of the lattice constant and the oxygen positional parameter for all the samples.
